 Course Description:This introductory course is designed to give a patterned glimpse into the 39 books of the Old Testament in its entirety.  The student will study the key points of each book:  title, author, date, key words, phrases and verses, as well as helping the student to understand the Old Testament as a foundation for our New Testament.  You will also get the import of the message and how Christ is seen in each book.  The course is taught in such a way as to make the Old Testament come alive.  Every Christian will benefit from this important study.

  2. Read required text(s), complete and turn in attached study guide   (20% of grade)
  3. Written assignment: 1 ½ – 2 typed pages/single spaced  (30% of grade)
  4. Overall summary of reading material (3 or more main ideas)
  5. Scripturally documented/supported
  6. Reflection: How will you apply what you have learned?
  7. Critique: What do you think about it (reading material)?
  8. 1 ½ – 2 typed pages, single spaced
  9. Written exam – final day    (50 % of grade)
    1. variety of questions: true/false, multiple choice, matching, short answer, etc.
    2. working knowledge of 8–10 important scripture verses (on back of syllabus)
    3. ratio of questions: 75 % from reading materials and 25 % from lectures
